A plastic factory blaze has been brought under control after authorities evacuated the building near the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, with no injuries reported, the Government of Dubai Media Office confirmed on Wednesday.
Residents raised concerns about the fire on social media, with footage claiming to show the aftermath of a massive explosion in the area, as firefighters and ambulances rushed to the scene.
The Dubai Civil Defense force confirmed on social media that, while thick black smoke is still billowing from the factory, the fire has been successfully extinguished, with no injuries reported following a safe evacuation.

The incident took place at an industrial complex near the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza). The extent of the damage is not yet clear, although the fire has burned through the flammable plastic material within the factory.
The plastic factory fire comes a month after a blaze broke out on a container ship at Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, with a government official confirming that it began when flammable materials accidentally ignited. The fire, which attacked the ship while it was docked, damaged numerous containers but no one was injured, with 14 crew members evacuated safely.
